RONALDO STAYS CALM

The Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has said that is certainly not worried about not winning the FIFA Ballon d’Or award despite having a successful last season. Ronaldo was a recipient of this prestigious award back in 2008, but since then he has been beaten by the Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi in the last four seasons.

The Argentine superstar recently managed to lift his fourth consecutive trophy, which appeared to sadden the Portuguese attacker Ronaldo. The 27-year-old is someone who prides himself on being called the best player in the world. He arrived at the Spanish club Real Madrid with this reputation.

He recently said that he was unhappy at the club after they have failed to support him enough in a bid to win the FIFA Ballon d’Or award for the second time in his career.

However, after the awards were presented to Lionel Messi, Ronaldo said that he is certainly not worried about not winning it because life moves on. Ronaldo competed along with Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta for this award. He had a successful last season in which he managed to score several goals and also win the Spanish la Liga title with Real Madrid. He also helped Portugal reached the semifinals of the European championships.

“I am calm about it — it’s not a matter of life and death. Life goes on. I don’t feel frustrated,” said the attacker, who said only a few weeks ago that if it was possible then he would himself vote for the FIFA Ballon d’Or award. Messi managed to lift the title after scoring 91 goals in the last calendar year. This achievement alone was enough for him to lift the award given that he did not win any major title with club or country. Iniesta managed to win the European championships with Spain.
